About Cumberland Neighborhood Housingprint this page

CNHS has undertaken a design plan (Wills Creek Neighborhood Vision Plan) for the revitalization of the 400, 500, 600 and 700 blocks of Mechanic and Centre Streets – two main corridors into and out of the center of Cumberland and the downtown.  This plan includes revitalization of existing residential and commercial property and the development of new workforce housing and park areas.

CNHS believes this project will not only revitalize the stated corridors, but also provide a useful footprint for revitalization of other areas of the city that currently support both residential and commercial space.

The Wills Creek Neighborhood Vision Plan includes all of the goals the CNHS board has determined necessary to the development of viable neighborhoods.  These goals include; improving existing housing stock and developing new housing, helping commercial entities become better neighbors (at the same time strengthening their business), provide attractive green space and parks for families in the neighborhood and generally promote a neighborhood lifestyle that will be attractive to all income levels and suitable new businesses.
